George Jefferson Sango

George Jefferson Swango, 86, of Beaver, Ohio, died Sunday January 15, 2017 at his home. Born September 10, 1930 in Ashland, Kentucky he was the son of the late Dr. Jefferson and Ruth B. Blythe Swango. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a son, George Michael Swango, a daughter, Linda Jean Fraley, a brother, Jefferson D. Swango II and by a sister, Ruby Crawford Spurlock.

George was a United State Army Veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the following organizations: F&AM Melrose Lodge 671 in Norwood, Ohio; 17th Airborne Division Association; US Constabulary Association; 24th Infantry Association; and Rolling Thunder Chapter Ohio #3. George was a life member of both the American Legion and the VFW and also held membership in numerous other military associations.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Newsome Swango, a son, Garry Owen Swango, 5 daughters, Rena Ruth, Amy Lou, Nora Lynn, Ella Ann, and Teresa Leah, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday January 21, 2017 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home 810 Second Avenue Gallipolis, Ohio. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.

Military Funeral Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail.

Masonic services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

David Duane Pearce, 67, Bidwell passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born July 22, 1949 in McArthur, Ohio to the late Donald Duane and Nellie Jacks Pearce. David married Bernetta Knox on July 6, 1969 in McArthur, Ohio and she survives.

He was a member of Orphans Friends F&AM Lodge #275, Wilkesville, Ohio, Teamster Local #175, Charleston, West Virginia and former member of Teamsters Local #413, Columbus, Ohio. He attended Vinton Baptist Church. David was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

David is survived by his wife Bernetta, their children: Brian (Angie) Pearce of Mechanicsville, Virginia; Donald (Rhoda) Pearce of Bidwell, Ohio; Charles Pearce of Gallipolis, Ohio ; and Missy (Jay) Hamilton of Middleport, Ohio; grandchildren Jordan, Logan, Haleigh, Rebecca, Tristan, Joel, and Caleb Pearce, and Pearce Hamilton; and brother, Kenny Pearce of Massilon, Ohio and several extended family members.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Miranda Sue Pearce.

Graveside service will be conducted, 1 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Vinton Memorial Park with Reverend Heath Jenkins officiating. Family and friends may call at the Vinton Baptist Church on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Masonic services will be conducted by Orphans & Friends F & AM Lodge #275 at 7:45 p.m. Friday.

His family will honor their dad as pallbearers: Donald Pearce, Brian Pearce, Charles Pearce, Jay Hamilton, Missy Hamilton and Logan Pearce.

Vivian “Ruffles” Alene Ward, 76, of Vinton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio.

She was born in Kentucky on January 25, 1940 to the late Lee R. and Opal M. Gearles Ferrell. She married William Y. Ward who preceded her death in 2008.

Vivian is survived by two sons, Terry Y. Ward and Donald L. Ward both of Vinton, Ohio; granddaughter, Ida Arlene Ward, Vinton, Ohio; sisters: Ruth Runyon, Gallipolis, Ohio, Anna (Robert) Blanton, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Joy (Earl) Reynolds, Ypsilanti, Michigan and Janet Runyon, Gallipolis, Ohio; brothers, Joseph Ferrell, Vinton, Ohio, Henry (Darlene) Ferrell, Bidwell, Ohio and several nieces and nephews all who were loved by Aunt V.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded niece, Linda Ward Stover, and nephews: Larry Ward, Leo Ferrell and Randy Vance.

Betty Jean ‘Miss Betty’ Hollingshead, 73

Betty Jean “Miss Betty” Hollingshead, 73, Vinton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio.

Born November 19, 1943 in Tamcliff, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late A.C. and Merle (Centers) Underwood. Betty attended Man High School and North Gallia High School, from which she graduated in 1961. She retired from Gallia County School System after twenty-seven years working and caring for all children she met. She was a member of many local clubs and booster clubs which helped many families in the community, one of which was the Secret Santa and a local Mother’s Club. Betty was married to Paul E. Hollingshead, Vinton, for fifty-five years who survives.

To this union, two children were born: Sheri Hollingshead, Vinton, Ohio and Paul (Becky) Hollingshead II, Jamestown, Ohio; three grandchildren: Stephanie Hollingshead and Justin Paul Hollingshead, both of Gladstone, Oregon and Philip Paul Hollingshead, Gallipolis, Ohio.

She leaves four great-grandchildren: Bradley, Tatum, Brystal and Derek, all of Gladstone, Oregon; sisters: Jaqueline Greene, Logan, West Virginia and Sharon (Doyle) Saunders, Bidwell, Ohio and brother-in-law, Russell Greene, Christian, West Virginia.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and Charles Riedel and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Orlena Underwood as well as four special nephews.

Betty loved and cared for her family all of her life as they were the most important people to her. She will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420

First Ave, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Joe Knott officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Monday 5-8 p.m..

Carl S. Cheney, 85

Carl S. Cheney, 85, of Gallipolis, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Holzer Senior Care Center.

Carl was born November 1, 1931 in Gallipolis, son of the late John L. and Georgia Hilton Cheney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean conflict. Carl was a retired school bus driver and a TPW at the Gallipolis Developmental Center. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.

Surviving are his children, Carl L. (Liz) Cheney of Syracuse, New York, Tim Cheney, Richard (Brenda) Cheney, Carla (Paul) Finnicum and Delman (Susana) Cheney, all of Gallipolis; four granddaughters, Brianna Brock, Jessica (Tony) Lloyd, Jennifer (Joey) Riffle, Karlee Lloyd; three grandsons, Johnn Paul Finnicum, Joseph Finnicum and Keagahn Lloyd; his sister, Dottie Locke of Gallipolis and his former wife, Sara Cheney of Gallipolis.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two sisters, Lil Cheney and Enabell See, and two brothers, Junior Cheney and Ray Cheney.

Services will 1 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8 p.m. There will be military services by the VFW Honor Guard.

John W. Lane, 82, of Gallipolis, died Friday February 3, 2017 at his home. Born June 16, 1934 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Alva B. and Addie Kudastky Lane. John was raised in the home of his grandparents, Alex and Victoria Lane. In addition to his parents and grandparents, John was preceded by his first wife, Stella Baird Lane, sons, Mike and Mark Watson, brother, Robert Bissell and by a sister, Nancy Mattingly.

John retired from Foodland as a produce manager. In later years he worked as a greeter at Walmart. He was a United States Army Veteran. John enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.

John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Phyllis Jean Sheets Lane, 3 sons, Chuck (Tammy) Lane of New Haven, WV, Mark Lane of Gallipolis, Brad (Crystal) Watson of Gallipolis, 7 grandchildren, Jenni Crawford, Wendi Ferrell, Kellen Watson, Nick Watson, Tyler Watson, Bailey Watson, and Morgan Watson, 5 great grandchildren, Carley Crawford, Lanie Crawford, Michael Ferrell, Eric Ferrell and Abel Watson, 2 sisters, Vickie (Carl) Shreve of Kentucky and Mary Cook of Gallipolis, and 1 brother, James Lane of Gallipolis. Also surviving is his special fur baby, Ginger.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday February 7, 2017 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Campaign Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 p.m.

Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail.

Andray Nathaniel Howell, 36, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. The son of the late Stanley Cooper and Tammy Howell Jones, he was born in Gallipolis February 23, 1980. He was a member of the Asbestos Union.

Andray is survived by his children: Ebony Howell, Andray Howell II and Ciara Howell, all of Gallipolis; brothers: Brian (Margaret) Howell, Phillip (Tember) Howell, Jaquille Cordell, all of Gallipolis and Johnny Prejean, Dallas, Texas; and sisters, Nikki (Melvin) Valentine, Gallipolis and Charity Howell, Proctorville, Ohio.

Georgia Jara Valencia, 88, of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Gallipolis.

She was born February 22, 1928 in Iloilo City, Phillipines, daughter of the late Marcelo and Consuelo Jara Obregon. Georgia married Willie G. Valencia Sr. and he preceded her in death. She was retired from Mason County Schools as a Pt. Pleasant Junior High teacher. Georgia was a member of First Baptist Church, Gallipolis.

Surviving are her son, daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren, Cyllene Valencia, Larky and Kambiz Molkara, children Roshanak and Kamran Molkara, Willie Valencia, Lani Kai Brooks, children Ehren and Tara Cox, Jully and Chip Patterson, children, Morgan Muszall and Kaity McCormick, Grace Valencia, her daughter, Destiny Brown, Mercy Angel and children, Tiffany Ramseur, Brittany Willet and Courttany Willet, Nichole and Steven Rice and children, Ariana and Chase Rice; seven great grandchildren; three brothers and one sister.

In addition to her parents and husband, Georgia was preceded in death by one brother.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Alvis Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Elva Lowder, 95

Elva Lowder, 95, of Kettering, Ohio went home to be with His Savior on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. Born July 30, 1921 in Greenup County, Kentucky, Elva was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Helen Katherine Wood Lowder who he married on December 8, 1942.

In addition to his parents, James Dewey and Maxie Clark Lowder, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Clifford Lowder, a sister, Ernestine Clark NesSmith and five half siblings, Easter Jordan, Mary Gulley, Craig Preston, Dennis Preston, and Margie Preston.

Elva attended Rio Grande High School and worked on the family farm in the Cora Community of Gallia County before he was drafted into the army, September 14, 1942 and served in North Africa and Italy before his honorable discharge on November 22, 1945. He was employed at the Mound Lab, Miamisburg for 33 years. He was a former member of the Westwood (later renamed Far Hills) Baptist Church and recently worshiped at Blessed Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, John Edward Lowder of Cincinnati, his daughter, Wilma Joyce (Ralph) Glass of Las Vegas, Nevada, two granddaughters, Laura Dawn Kistler, and Kristin Nicole (Kirk) Grimm, and three great grandchildren, Jensyn Jersey, Joshua Zachrison, and Gillian Grimm all also of Las Vegas. He is also survived by his nephew Earl Keith Lowder, niece Debbie Popescu and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at French City Baptist Church on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. with the viewing starting at noon. Pastors Mark Williams and H.C. O’Bryant will officiate.

Burial will follow in Old Pine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Lowder, Ralph Glass, Joshua Zachrison, Kirk Grimm, Larry Camden, and Preston Jordan.

Thelma Jean McCulty, 85, Columbus, Ohio (formerly of Gallia County, Ohio) passed away January 13, 2017 in First Community Village Nursing Facility, Columbus, Ohio.

Born December 19, 1931 in Huntington, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Richard Steven and Laura Estelle (Warfield) Grant. Thelma married Wayne A. McCulty who preceded her in death December 23, 2015.

To this union were born three children: Richard (Jo) McCulty, Columbus, Ohio; Judy (Ted) Bernard, Silver Springs, Florida and Laura (Michael) McCulty Stepp, Silver Spring, Maryland; grandchildren: Dion Taylor, Grant Taylor, Jessey Taylor and Elena Stepp and great-granddaughter, Abby Taylor. Other survivors include sister Barbara (Bill) Simmons, Bidwell, Ohio; brother, Bob Grant, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Lois Stout, Bidwell, Ohio and Judy McCulty, Gallipolis, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews and several extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and an infant sister.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held 2:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton. Graveside services will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park with Rev. Gladys Rife, 95, Cheshire, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her home.

She was born February 4, 1922 in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late James and Edith (Bonecutter) Shamblin. She married Ralph Rife who preceded her in death in 1995. Gladys was a member of Cheshire Baptist Church and a lifetime Deaconess as well as a member of the OES Cheshire, Ohio Chapter.

She is survived by her son, James Rife, Cheshire, Ohio and three grandchildren: James B. Rife, Cheshire, Ohio; Nathaniel T. (Josephine) Rife, Manassas, Virginia and Tammy Jane (Robin) Millar, Orlando, Florida; three great-grandchildren: Jimmy Lee Rife, Neal Rife and Joshua Rife and one great-great-granddaughter, Kailyn Rife. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her brothers and sister: Ray Shamblin, Florida; Don (Grace) Shamblin, Alexandria, Virginia; Tony (Thelma) Shamblin, Woodstalk, Virginia and Carol (Dick) Sallee, Tell City, Indiana.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Taylor; grandson, Ronnie Taylor; sisters, Betty Miles, Alice Shamblin and Rosemary Reynolds; brothers, George Shamblin and Jimmy Shamblin and daughter-in-law, Eva Rife.

Samuel E. Terry Sr., 74, of Patriot, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his residence.

He was born June 5, 1942 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Cecil Leland and Grace Hanley Spears Terry. Samuel was married to Shelby Williams Terry and she survives him. He was retired from working road construction.

Also surviving are a son, Samuel E. (Karen) Terry Jr. of Gallipolis; a daughter, Kiana Terry of Patriot; a grandson, Gabriel Terry; stepchildren, Amy (Gary) Dray of Gallipolis and Nola (Donivan) Blake of Crown City; step grandchildren, Samuel Cudd, Nolan Stanley and 5 additional step grandchildren; sisters, Rosalie C. Shoemaker of Hilliard, Mary E. (Ed) Cox of Oak Hill, Grace E. (Mike) Broyles of Gallipolis, Pamela S. (Phillip) Lane of Pickerington, and Diana L. (David) Somerville of Thurman; four brothers, Cecil R. (Shirley) Terry of Bidwell, James W. (Sue) Terry of Patriot, Larry D. (Shirley) Terry of Vinton, William J. (Anna) Terry of Pt. Pleasant, WV; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann Terry, and three sisters, Ruby Viola Gibson, Alelia Annabelle Seagraves, and Linda Lou Terry.

Julie Rae Gillman, 61, Vinton, Ohio passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio March 18, 1956 to the late Robert N. and Elizabeth A. Mitchell Hash. 
She was a 1974 graduate of North Gallia High School and 1991 graduate of the University of Rio Grande.  Julie married Paul Edward Gillman on May 18,1974 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2013.  She was an employee of General Mills, Wellston, Ohio for more than twenty years. 
Julie is survived by three sons, Cory Gillman, Vinton Ohio, Jeff (Michelle) Gillman, Oak Hill, Ohio and Tony (Holly) Gillman, Vinton, Ohio; grandchildren:  Tia, Christopher, Kirstin, Brady, Alisa, Tristin, Gracie, Scarlet, Chance, Beth, Kaylee, Stephen, Tera, Freddie, Aaron and Kelle; great-grandchildren, Castiel and Aurora; brothers, Dennis (Linda) Hash, Westerville, Ohio, Steve (Julie) Hash, Grand Junction, Colorado; mother-in-law, Hulda Hendricks, Gallipolis, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Tommy Edward Woodrum, 79

Tommy Edward Woodrum, 79, of Gallipolis, passed away, at 3:33 p.m. at his residence. Born September 3, 1937 in Julian, West Virginia he was the son of the late Ira and Martha Stratton Woodrum.

He was a maintenance man for GKN and retired after 22 years. He also served his country in the US Army and was a member of the Gallipolis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 4464.

He loved to work, whether it would be restoring cars to working on engines. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and eating breakfast with his friends at Tudors.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Marie Freimark Woodrum, whom he married on January 8, 1965 in Toledo, Ohio; his children, Steven Woodrum, Dale (Carletta) Woodrum, both of Barborsville, West Virginia, Debra Sue (Frank) Valente of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and Gregory (Diana Long) Woodrum of Canal Winchester, Ohio; three grandchildren, Joey Valente, Gabriella Woodrum, and Jared Woodrum. Two brothers, Ronnie (Rene) Woodrum of Huntington, West Virginia, and Gerald (Kim) Woodrum of Lesage, West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later time and date.

Elsie Elizabeth “Libby” Mitchell, 83, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio.

The daughter of the late Ross and Lola (Kemper) Sexton, she was born February 3, 1934 in Gallia County, Ohio. Libby was a 1951 Graduate of Bidwell Porter High School and was a retired cook from Gallia County Local Schools. She was a member of French City Baptist Church, Bidwell, Ohio. She married Otho Gary Mitchell January 31, 1953 in Gallia County and he preceded her in death in 1999.

Libby is survived by a sister, Peggy Sexton, Bidwell; daughter-in-law, Gina (Brian) Harris, Bidwell; grandchildren: Gary (Briana) Mitchell, Jennifer Mitchell, Aaron (Candice) Mitchell, all of Bidwell and Jeremy Harmon, Richmond, Indiana; great-grandchildren: Braiden, Paisleigh and Gabriella Mitchell and Hunter and Easton Meaige, all of Bidwell as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Eugene Mitchell; four brothers: William Orville Sexton, James Edward Sexton, Ross Sexton Jr. and John Lee Sexton; three sisters: Dorothy Drummond, Betty Boyer and Anna Martha Fillinger; special nephew, Brad Fillinger and sister-in-law, Amy Sexton.

“Grandma was a very loving and sweet lady. She was loved by many and everyone she ever met.  Our lives have completely changed without this sweet lady but she has no more pain and no more suffering. She is now rejoicing with Jesus and her baby boy and husband.”

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor Mark Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Wednesday 5-7 p.m..

Pallbearers for services include: Gary Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell, Gerry Pratt, Anthony O’Dell, John Williams and Brian Harris.

Kari Ratliff, 34, Huntington, West Virginia passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born June 13, 1982 in Gallipolis, Ohio, the daughter of James E. and Debbie (Shilot) Ratliff, Huntington, West Virginia. She attended Christ Temple Church in Huntington.

Kari leaves behind to cherish her memory her parents and her daughters: Faith Howell and Danae Howell, both of Huntington; her brother, Brian (Jaime) Ratliff, Columbus, Ohio and several aunts, uncles and extended family members.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, Ohio with pastor Mark Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Skidmore Family Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Monday 11:00 AM to the time of service.

Nancy C. Thompson Dobbins, 81, Bidwell Ohio passed away in her home Friday, March 31, 2017. She was born October 4, 1935 in Montgomery, West Virginia to the late John Henry and Edith (Boston) Thompson. Nancy married David R. Dobbins, Sr., February 8, 1952 and he survives.

She is survived by their children: David R. Dobbins, Jr., Mansfield, Ohio; Carol Jean Oiler, James V. (Joann) Dobbins and Mary J. (Robert) Lewis, all of Vinton, Ohio; Crystal L. (Arthur) Writsel, Gallipolis, Ohio and Betty L. (Brad) Halfhill, Bidwell, Ohio; twenty-three grandchildren, forty-nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother: Clarence (Judy) Thompson, Columbus, Ohio; sisters: Wanda (Buster) Hager, Columbus, Ohio and Frances Dobbins, Bidwell, Ohio and brother-in-law, Henry Maynard, Rodney, Ohio.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Sue Fuller; a son, Harry Jefferson Dobbins; grandson, Jerrad Oiler; brother, John Thompson; sister, Katie Maynard and a brother-in-law, Joe Dobbins, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted Noon Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Ted Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Dobbins Family Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Tuesday 4-7 p.m.

Juanita Pauline Waugh Craig, 96

Juanita Pauline Waugh Craig, 96, also known as Granny Craig by many, passed away at her home on Bladen Road of Crown City, Ohio on March 31, 2017. Juanita was born on April 17, 1920 on Hannan Trace Road of Crown City, to the late James and Elizabeth Northup Waugh. Juanita was married to the late Lawrence Craig on February 5, 1938 together they had two loving daughters, Carolyn Louella Craig Chapman who preceded her in death and Elizabeth Ann ‘Sue’ Craig Campbell (Wayne Brumfield) both of Crown City.

Juanita was a Nurse’s Aide, homemaker, and cook consultant to many. Juanita was preceded in death by two brothers, Dana Waugh of Crown City and Tom (Nancy) Waugh of North Carolina, and by three Sisters, Dorothy (Alden) Clark of North Carolina, Elma (James) Clark of South Carolina and Mary (Thurman) Wray of Crown City.
Juanita is survived by one Brother, Harold (Pasty) Waugh of North Carolina and one Sister, Jewell (Larry) Halley of Porter, Ohio. Juanita was blessed by eight Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, and 32 Great Great Grandchildren, and three Great Great Great Grandchildren.

Juanita was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she had an unwavering faith in God. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Crown City. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday April 4, 2017 in the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jamie Klaiber and Todd Bowers officiating. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to the services.

Pallbearers will be Keith Campbell, Eddie Campbell, Terry Chapman, Craig Chapman, Rick Clary, Bobby Shaw, and Nick Shaw. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Waugh, Derrick Beaver, and Eddie Campbell II.
